Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific

Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific. As Emile DeBecque. After spending the day together at Emile DeBecque’s Villa, in the South Pacific, during World War II, Emile DeBecque (John George Campbell) sings Some Enchanted Evening to US Navy ensign Nellie Forbush, since they have just fallen in love.   I was happy to have the opportunity to perform this role. The songs are right in my wheelhouse, vocally. It’s a role that I would love to perform again, a few more times. I seem to be well suited for it.

General Genghis Khan Schmitz in Seussical

General Genghis Khan Schmitz   I recently had the chance to join the cast of an already rehearsing production of Seussical, produced by Temecula Fine Arts Network, and wonderfully directed by Brittany Smith Campbell, (no relation). I was just finishing up Urinetown, at the Barn Stage Company, and didn’t think that I would have a enough time to catch up with the rest of the Seussical cast. Thankfully, the role offered of General Genghis Khan Schmitz, wasn’t a large role in the show, but it was a good, fun, and funny role to play. Coming into the rehearsal, it was clear to … Continued

Caldwell B Cladwell in Urinetown

John George Campbell as Caldwell B Cladwell in Urinetown I was recently cast in the role of Caldwell B Cladwell in the Barn Stage Companys production of Urinetown, in Temecula, California by casting director Evan D’Angeles. The experience was a lot of fun. The cast was really strong, and the direction by J. Scott Lapp, musical direction by Taylor Peckham, choreography by Chelsea Nicole Lapp, and musicians in the pit (just out of view of the audience), were all superb. I auditioned for this particular company, and this particular show, because I had heard great things about the young duo … Continued

The Story of Eric from Phantom

The Story of Eric from Phantom When I was asked if I would audition for Phantom I thought that there were only two roles that I would be interested in doing in the show. One would be Eric, the Phantom, who vocally I would have been able to do, or Gerard Carriere, because of the narrative nature of his role, and the great duet that’s sung at the end of the show, You Are My Own.  I was offered Gerard Carriere, and I was happy for it. In the scene in this video, The Story of Eric, Gerard Carriere explains to … Continued

Puppy Love

Here’s a link to the trailer for Puppy Love,  premiering in Riverside, California on September 12th, 2014 at the Tri Stone Theater,  on Limonite Avenue. Come to the premier if you’re in the area. There will be other short films premiering that night, as well. Puppy Love is a short film that I was recently  cast in  to play  an  older man that’s never  quite  gotten  over his first love. His puppy  love.  He’s lived his life as a singer/songwriter,  and has fans that want to see him,  and hear his songs, but he stays  secluded behind the closed gates … Continued
